Early years
He was born as Blake Tollison Shelton on June 18, 1976, in a Pontotoc County’s city called Ada. Ada is settled in the state of Oklahoma in the United States and is a very peaceful place.
He has been born into a working-class family with mother Dorothy who owned a beauty salon and his father Richard who worked in car sales. His parents took care of him but they also taught him the importance of planning and saving money for important things.
They also motivated him to get into music since they have recognized his talent from a very early age.
He liked music from an early age and started singing in his early years. He wanted to learn to play the guitar too so hid uncle taught him how to.
Two-three years after he started writing his own songs, supported by his uncle and parents who recognized his passion for music.
He began entering competitions and was only 16 years old when he received his 1st award. It was the Denbo Diamond Award given to him by Oklahoma State.
He suffered a huge tragedy when his older brother Richie, with whom he had spent his childhood and was very close with, died in a car accident.
He had written several songs where he mentioned him and it was something that shaped his music at that time.
He was 17 years old when he graduated from high school and decided to avoid college and try himself to make a career in music. He decided to relocate to Nashville, the heart of country music, where many singers began their music careers.
However, he had to work to support himself so he gained a job at a music publishing company. This gave him a chance to get a contract with a Sony Record label for whom he produced music.
Career development
His first contract with a record label came several years later. He wanted to release his first single called “I Wanna Talk About Me” in 2001 through Giant Records but it eventually went to Toby Keith.
His debut song became “Austin”. After Giant Records closed Sheldon was moved to WB Company which this single and it became his first No.1. Hit.
The song stayed on the top over 5 weeks. After this huge success, his Warner Bros label decided to release his debut album which was named also “Austin”.
The complete album was produced by Bobby Braddock, a known songwriter, and producer who is also a member of Country Music Haul of Fame. The album produced several hit songs like “All Over Me” and “Ol’ Red”.
The latter one became his signature song and he always performs it at his concerts. This album was certified Platinum by RIAA and was sold in over a million copies.
His next album was named “The Dreamer” and it came out in 2003. One of his most recognizable songs from the album was “The Baby” which also became a No.1. Song. This album was certified gold and it brought him the financial stability he needed.
He collaborated with Tracy Byrd on her single “The truth about men” and he called it a very pleasant experience.
In 2004, Shelton released his 3rd album which was titled “Shelton’s Barn & Grill”. It emerged his 3rd No.1. Hit called “Some Beach”. This album was certified Platinum.
In 2005 he appeared in a minor role in a TV movie called “The Christmas Blessing” and a few of his songs were put on the movie’s soundtrack.
In 2007 he released a new studio album called “Pure BS” with hits like “Don’t Make Me” and “The More I Drink”.
It was in the same year he became a judge on a reality TV singing contest shoe called “Nashville Star”. It was a great experience for him and he enjoyed discovering new country stars and help them launch their careers. He remembers himself and his performances at various events at the beginning of his career and he wanted to do as much as he could to help them succeed.
In 2008 he released a cover song of Michael Buble’s hit song called “Home” which was an extreme hit. Even Michael Buble commented on how this is one of the rare covers of his songs that he too likes.
After releasing hid next single “She Wouldn’t Be Gone” which also went to No.1 on the Charts he was very proud because it became his fifth single on the Top.
The single was the first song he released through his new album “Startin’ Fires”. The album was completely produced by Scott Hendricks.
In 2010 he released his EP called “Hillbilly Bone” with the same-name lead single song together with Trace Adkins. He likes to collaborate with Trace Adkins and they collaborated a lot of time in the future.
It was released by Reprise Records from Nashville. His next EP came just a few months later and was titled “All About Tonight”.
By the end of the same year, he had released the greatest hits album titled “Loaded: The Best of Blake Shelton”.
He was one of the members of an American country concert in Nashville called Grand Ole Opry which was a big honor for him and showed his importance in the world of country music.

At the end of 2012, he released his debut Christmas album called “Cheers It’s Christmas”. He later stated that it waa a great joy to him to make such an album with all songs being very positive.
He also appeared on Christina Aguilera’s song “Just a Fool”. His 8th studio album came in 2013 and was titled “Based on a True Story” and was one of his most selling albums.
In 201e he won the Academy of Country Music Award for his work as a judge/coach on a TV show the Voice. He was very honored by it and always spoke about his experience in the show as a very positive thing.
He also claims that is was a life-changing thing for him because he met Gwen Stefani there and he is still in a great relationship with her.
He toured a lot from 2013 until 2015 and got closer to his fans. It is important for him to be close to them because he knows they are very loyal and supportive.
His 9th studio album was released through Warner Bros Nashville in September 2014. Warner Bros have released all of his albums and are giving him all the creativity he wants.
It was titled “Bringing Back the Sunshine” and was completely produced by Scott Hendricks. He released four singles from that album and they all went to No.1.
He was honored to be inducted to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame at the end of the same year. It was a special event for him which proved his high influence and rise to stardom as one of the top country singers today.
In 2015 he recorded a song which was used for the soundtrack of a family adventure movie titled “Max”.
His following album was his greatest hits album titled “Reloaded: 20 #1 Hits”. The album had huge sellings since it contained his most listened songs.
In the spring of 2016, he released an album “If I’m Honest”.
He also hosted the 2016 Kids’ Choice Awards which took place in Inglewood in California and was aired live on TV.
One of the singles from “If I’m Honest” album was named “Friends” and it became a theme song of a popular computer-animated comedy movie.
In 2016, an exhibit about his life and work was put at the Country Music Hall of Fame and he sang in its opening.

Blake invested his hard-earned money into the franchise of restaurants named “Ole Red”.
In 2019 he was involved in a controversy connected for his own song called “Hell Right”. The song, whose lyrics were written by David Garcia and Brett Tyler rose anger of Lil Nas fans. They believe the lyrics of his song try to put shame on his song “Old Town Road” which topped the charts.
He denied the accusations but was attacked heavily through social media.

In 2005 he was introduced to Miranda Lambert, a known country singer, and songwriter. They started dating in 2006 and got marries in 2010. The ceremony took place in Boone in Texas in May 2011.
In 2012 his father Dick died and Blake entered a grieving period. Blake and his wife have written a song about hid late brother Richie who died in a car crash.
